QUALITHERM is a quality label for aluminium profiles alloys with “thermal barrel” used for window and door frames.

Profile with thermal barrel is a profile in which metallic parts, internal and external, are connected with a plastic material that constitutes the “thermal barrel”, thus breaking off heat flow from one side to other side of aluminium profile.

Plastic component is fixed to metallic parts with rolling (with ot without adhesives) and increase mechanical strenght of the profile.

QUALITHERM Technical Specifications describe the minimum requirements for raw materials, for laboratory equipments and for finished product.

HOW TO OBTAIN QUALITHERM LABEL

To achieve the QUALITHERM licence, the profile with thermal barrel have to meet the following primary requirements (with demonstration of a laboratory granted by QUALITAL):

- Durability;

- Mechanical strenght;

- Evaluation of U factor;

- Resistance to hydrolisis and/or to water

Afterwards, an inspection will be done to check the following points:

- Control of the laboratory equipments;

- Inspection of quality control registers of the manufacturer;

- Evaluation of resistance to stress (T) on 2 samples of profiles with thermal barrel.

If the results of the inspection are satisfactory, QUALITAL will issue a certificate of technical suitability.

RENEWAL OF QUALITHERM QUALITY LABEL

After granting QUALITHERM licence, the manufacturer will be inspected at least twice times a year, following the same operational mode as the inspection for granting the label.

If the results of the inspection are not satisfactory, a new inspection on products and plant will be made within one month.
