Environmental certification
QUALITAL started in 2006 the activity of Certification of the Environmental Management Systems according to UNI EN ISO 14001:2004, and short-time a request will be sent to SINCERT for accreditation.
The ISO 14001 certification iter is similar to ISO 9001.
Once the environment management system has been prepared and implemented, the Company may choose to apply for the certification in conformity to the ISO 14001 Standard, thus proving it to the labour market in the environmental frame.
The companies with Quality Management System, already certified by QUALITAL, have also the possibility of getting a certificate from QUALITAL on the Environmental Management System with the unquestionable advantage of having only one negotiator; in fact, by request of the Company, QUALITAL will be able to jointly make the Visits for the Certification for Quality and Environment.
The iter of Environmental Management System may be explained as follows (based on QUALITAL regulations):
1. The companies interested to the Certification for their Environmental Management System may request to QUALITAL an economical quotation by fax with the Application Form duly filled in;
2. QUALITAL sends the quotation, the form for the Certification Request and the Rules for the Environmental Certification;
3. If the Company accept the offer, it sends to QUALITAL the Request for the Certification signed by its Legal Representative;
4. QUALITAL, once checked the compliance of documentation and approved the request form, informs the Company about the evaluation Group and requests essential documentation for starting Certification iter (preliminary environmental analysis, plan of the site, etc);
5. If QUALITAL and/or the Company retain it useful, a preliminary inspection may be agreed in order to check if the Company is able to approach the Certification iter;
6. QUALITAL makes two inspections to the Company: the Phase 1 Audit (to establish the efficiency of the evaluation in environmental matters and to check the legal conformity) and the Certification Audit or Phase 2 Audit (to check that the Environmental Management System is applied according to internal documentation and to requirements of the reference Standard); during the inspections, Company must ensure that the auditors are assisted by the staff related to this activity under control and that all the documents referring to the Management System are available;
7. After positive result of the Certification Audit, and aftet checking the efficient implementation of corrective actions, QUALITAL will issue the Certification valid for three years, with yearly inspections and to re-Certification inspection at the end of the third year.
Concerning to the schedule:
. Phase 1 Audit is scheduled within 20 days of the Certification request, and Certification Audit will be scheduled according to the time nedeed to make possible corrective actions (if requested, after Phase 1 Audit). Date of inspection will be previously agreed;
. Granting of Certification will be carried out on the first Meeting of QUALITAL Certification Comitee, after the positive results of the Certification inspection or after checking of the effectiveness of corrective actions executed.
